The No Yeast Veggie Pizza

A Deadly pathogen has crippled our lives. It has  create a new normal for us where there are no friends , family, people whom we can meet up and spend time with. It has also meant that there has been no outside food for over 2 months now :( ... So, finally, i had to come up with a way to have Pizza! Since i have no Yeast(and not getting any right now either) i had to make it without . Here's how i did it:

Ingredients :
  • All Purpose Flour(2 Cups)
  • Salt (1 tsp or less)
  • Baking Powder(1 tsp)
  • Baking Soda(1 tsp)
  • Olive oil (2 tbsp)
  • oregano/garlic powder(optional)
  • Veggies(Any toppings you want. I used mushrooms, onions, pineapples, bell peppers)
  • Shredded Cheese(i usually use one of the mixes)
  • Fresh Mozzarella(mostly used for Margheritas, but since i love it i use for everything Pizza! upto you though)
  • A Sauce(I've used purchased Alfredo or Marinara.Haven't made it myself yet...but i do have plans )
Recipe :

  • Mix the flour, Salt, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, oil and 1/4 cups water(may need to add a little more , but it should be close enough). you can add the oregano or garlic powder for enhanced crust taste.
    • A note here on the Baking Soda and Powder - The recipe calls for Baking powder only. I've however felt that it gives a metallic taste to the pizza. Using both Baking Powder and Soda makes it a little better without the aftertaste
  • Knead well and create a round ball of the dough. It should be soft
  • Take a Pizza pan and sprinkle some flour on it
  • Expand the ball to a circle to cover the whole pan with your hands. level the circumference of the pizza if needed
  • Add the sauce. Start with a spoon scoop in the middle and spread it across to cover the whole pizza
  • sprinkle a healthy dose of shredded cheese across
  • break the Fresh Mozzarela into little balls and spread across
  • add the veggies
  • Put it in the oven (preheated to 450 degrees F) for 15 - 20 mins(check in between to make sure it cooks properly)
